ESSENTIAL OILS UPDATE
Salamandre now carries over 50 therapeutic essential oils. Our list has all of the appropriate latin names and sources. Most have certificates of analyses and MSDS information. We are gathering distillation dates and moving toward wildcrafted oils as quickly as we can. Our list also gives properties for antibiotics, antiseptics, anti-fungals and anti-virals. Other attributes are being collected from literature searches and comments from our customers.
Our current project is to evaluate helichrysum italicum from several sources; Balkan peninsula, Bosnia, Slovenia, France, and Stoechas France. We have chosen not to use the Madagascar oils which are not the italicum. We were disappointed with helichrysum gymnocephalum and will not try the rambiazina species, which is so cheap it is questionable. The italicum or immortelle is used in high end cosmetics for tightening the skin and repairing scars and other skin issues. The product from Stoechas is not available at this time.
We are continuing to make downstream products with the oils; aloe glycerine soaps with choices for essences or none at all, bath salts, face creams, liniments, lotions, and organic castille soaps. We have a new bath salt developed by request for fibromyalgia. There is no feedback as yet for that application, but the product (tranquillisant or soothing) is getting raves for sleep issues.
We produce an oil blend, also called Tranquillisant, for a local therapist for Parkinsons patients. The oil is used with a Riff machine, which is microamp powered with controls for hertz vibrations. Vibrations are key to elimination of parasites and many diseases. The machine is programmed in two and one half minute segments for forty five minutes to one hour. The oil used with this program has been very beneficial for Parkinson’s issues.
We are active in making tailored oil blends for specific requests.
